Your game stays with you.

Local files and playback

Select your own complete, lawfully obtained DropMix game folder or backup ZIP. This player reads those files in your browser, discovers the card library, and prepares music on your device. Game files, song audio, artwork, filenames, and card selections are not uploaded to the website. The public player contains no DropMix game media and provides no game-file downloads.

Card images are decoded from your selected game files and displayed locally. File access lasts for this page session. “Release game files” stops playback and releases the selected files, decoded music, and image URLs from the app. You will need to select the game again after reloading. The player does not write to or change the files you select.

Network and offline use

The website loads the player’s own code, board protocol, and audio decoder. It has no analytics, advertising, account system, cloud music processing, or sharing service. The host may keep ordinary website access logs, including your IP address and requests for the player’s files. The player caches its own software for offline use; selected game data is not saved in that cache.

The optional desktop edition provides a Bluetooth bridge on your own computer. It starts with an empty card library and does not serve previously imported game media. Starting it explicitly with --preload-assets enables the older desktop media and audio bridge. When you select a game folder in the browser, that selected content is processed by the browser.

Bluetooth and diagnostics

Your browser asks for permission to connect to your board. Diagnostics remain in this tab unless you choose “Save session log,” which creates a local download with board protocol packets and card identifiers. It does not contain songs or artwork.

Independent preservation project

Our goal is to reduce hardware waste by keeping existing DropMix boards and cards useful when the discontinued Android app is unavailable or no longer runs on a user's phone. Hasbro lists the original app as no longer available for download.

This release contains no original DropMix music, card artwork, APK, OBB, or game data. It includes independently written player software and licensed open-source components, so “no copyrighted content” would not accurately describe the software itself.

DropMix PC is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Harmonix or Hasbro. Product names identify compatible hardware; their trademarks belong to their respective owners. The software license covers the player and its included software, and grants no rights to game files, music, artwork, or trademarks.

The original game audio uses encryption, which the browser decoder processes locally. Supplying your own files is not a guarantee of permission under every applicable law. Use only files and uses for which you have the necessary rights.

Copyright concerns and source

Report project concerns through the itch.io project page where you obtained this player. Include the affected project URL or file and the rights you believe are involved. Please do not attach game media. Maintainers should review reports and remove or disable project material where appropriate.

The browser audio decoder includes themethod3, under GNU GPL version 3. Public release packages include the license and corresponding source in source.tar.gz. Development and release instructions are included in that source archive.
